EN-8D Bright Bar is a medium-carbon engineering steel known for its combination of strength, toughness, machinability, and durability. EN-8D, also identified with grades such as 080A40 and 45C8, contains approximately 0.40% to 0.45% carbon and 0.70% to 0.90% manganese. Its balanced chemical composition makes it suitable for components that require reliable mechanical performance and the ability to undergo machining and heat treatment.
The bright bar offers good machinability and can be heat treated to achieve higher hardness, strength, and wear resistance where required. It is widely used for manufacturing shafts, axles, gears, studs, bolts, spindles, crane wheels, and other engineering and automotive components.
